A life-long student of Roman history, Nicholas brings together a scientist’s research acumen and a writer’s eye for the human stories behind imperial power.

Nicholas is an infectious disease scientist by training (MSc., DLSHTM., PhD), with more than 20 years’ professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry working on vaccines and immunotherapeutics. In his career, he has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific papers, reviews and professional articles.

As a writer on Imperial Rome, he brings the same attention to evidence, analysis and clear communication to narratives of ambition, authority, conflict and consequence.
